Show Synopsis

The Play That Goes Wrong is a farcical murder mystery, a play within a play. It is opening night for the Cornley Polytechnic Dramatic Society as they present A Murder at Haversham Manor. From the moment the lights go up, everything that can go wrong, does. The entire cast must work together through missed entrances, missing props, misplaced sound cues, unconscious actors, and a set that literally falls apart.

Additional Information

  • Your photo will be taken prior to your audition

  • You do not need to print out any scenes, they will all be provided

  • Memorization is not required

  • Audition pairings will be selected at random

  • The majority of characters will speak with a British accent.

  • Character descriptions are below

Show Risk

  • The Play That Goes Wrong is a very physically demanding show. Actors considering auditioning for this production should be in good physical shape. Most roles require varying amounts of crawling, climbing up and down, lifting, running, falling, and stage combat. The show is performed on a set with many moving pieces and parts. If you are someone who deals with recurring issues or is prone to injury, we ask you to reconsider auditioning. While we will do everything in our power to keep everyone safe, accidents can happen, and we don’t want to exacerbate any injuries.
